Chief Executive Officer

Stuart Edwards

Stuart was appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer in 2015 and also holds the position of Executive Director. Stuart is a highly successful strategic business leader with more than 25 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry across listed banks and the customer owned, mutual sector.

Since joining Southern Cross Credit Union Stuart has led the complete transformation of the business delivering positive results in the key strategic areas including organisational culture, employee engagement, financial performance, process improvement and customer experience.

Stuart is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, holds a Diploma in Financial Services and has completed various executive level management and leadership qualifications.

Living locally in the Northern Rivers region Stuart is passionate about the role customer owned financial institutions can, and should, play in supporting strong and healthy communities.

Chief Financial Officer

Brett Myles

Brett is responsible for the financial management of the Credit Union, as well as strategy and implementation of SCCU’s information and communication technology objectives. Brett worked in the Audit and Assurance section of a big 4 accounting firm for nine years, before joining the banking and finance industry in 1994.

Brett is passionate about mentoring and developing his team and implementing technology for efficiency gains. He is a strong advocate for using technology to improve the customer experience.

Executive Manager, Risk & Compliance

Simon Lehmann

As Executive Manager, Sales and Distribution, Simon is responsible for managing our retail network. Simon has more than 25 years’ experience in the banking and finance industry and has a broad range of experience from personal and business banking, to project management and training and development.

Simon is passionate about community and counts his involvement in the recovery work in the aftermath of the Black Saturday bushfires of 2009 as one the most challenging and rewarding experiences of his career.

Executive Manager, Distribution

Craig Barker

Craig has more than 30 years’ experience in financial services in Australia and Asia, across a broad range of functions including strategy, risk and compliance. Craig is responsible for the risk management, audit and compliance functions at SCCU.

He is a member of the Risk Management Association of Australasia and has an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School.
