At SCCU, we are here to support our customers in times of need. If you are experiencing financial difficulty please don’t hesitate to contact our team on 1300 360 744 who are ready to listen and willing to assist.
Am I eligible to apply for assistance?
All loan customers of SCCU experiencing financial hardship are eligible to apply for assistance. We ask that you don’t wait if you know your financial situation is about to change even if your loan repayments are currently up to date or in advance.
Applications for hardship assistance do not have to be in writing either, it can simply be a verbal request.
Depending on your individual circumstances, the following types of assistance may be an option for you.
- A change in your repayments from Principal and Interest to Interest Only repayments
- Deferral of your loan repayments
- Extension of your loan terms with your repayments reset to match
- Reduce your repayments if you are already ahead
- Debt consolidating where you may have multiple loans with SCCU or elsewhere.
Please get in touch on 1300 360 744 or email us at hardship@sccu.com.au. We are here to help tailor a solution to best suit your individual needs.
If you’re experiencing financial hardship, we ask that you please put your hand up, let us know and we’ll see how we can help. You’re not on your own; In fact, it’s not uncommon to experience temporary difficulty in repaying a loan when circumstances change because of an unexpected event such as rising interest rates, injury or illness, losing your job or a relationship breakdown. The best thing you can do is let us know as soon as you are aware repayments will become an issue and we’ll work with you to try and make life a little easier. If you’d like, you can also access a free independent financial counselling service through the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) on 1800 007 007.
